Design has driven the development of every industry since the beginning of industry. From the first steam engines to modern functionality, everything has had the opportunity to be well designed. Looking back, we identify outdated designs and companies that failed to adapt. Although some companies define themselves as “design driven,” many others began to integrate design only a few years ago, recognizing its importance not only in aesthetics, but also in problem solving. To meet this challenge, designers must transcend creativity and adopt a scientific-like methodological approach, strategically contributing to their organizations.
