How was the project created?
How was the project created?
Challenge
With a mindset focused on agility and technology, BanCoppel designed a credit product focused on SMEs, taking advantage of the opportunity left unattended by traditional banking. Of the 50 banks that exist in the country, only 18% of SMEs are being attended by them. For BanCoppel to become a leading player in the market, the only missing ingredient was to create a clear and attractive differentiation for entrepreneurs from traditional banking; since BanCoppel is not among the first credit options for them.
Project
From a user-centric perspective, the needs of entrepreneurs in a Covid19 environment were identified and an analysis was carried out of how Grupo Coppel can cover them by relying on its business verticals. In addition, through an exhaustive exploration with stakeholders, the attractiveness and ease of operating the initiatives in terms of benefits in retail and insurance was evaluated. Through an integrating concept and respecting what has already been built, a benefits system was designed to meet the current needs of entrepreneurs and reward different verticals of the company.
How do we generate value?
- Identification of a key differentiator to have a competitive product.
- Entry into new markets for different verticals of the company.
- Boost to sales by volume.
- Creation of a strategy that encourages repurchase.
- Expansion of the product offer in verticals of the company.

Who are we designing for?
The SME entrepreneur is the main focus of the project; who is in a complex situation of uncertainty and lack of liquidity, under the scenario of the global pandemic.
Keeping a business afloat and resisting the current crisis are the challenges faced by the entrepreneur and they are not solved only with a credit product.
